STAR CLASS!!!

WELL DONE ROOM 18 on being the STAR CLASS this week at assembly! The gold star looks beautiful hanging up in our classroom!

Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3! What an exciting break we all had with the treat of some very white and cold snow! I had a great time making some very cool snowmen and snow angels. It has been great to hear the students stories about their snow adventures too.

This term sees us focusing on Narrative Writing, Fractions, Patterns in Nature, Science Experiments, Folk Dancing, the Rugby World Cup, and topping it off with Gymnastics at the end of the term.

We have a very busy term ahead but it is an exciting term! I am looking forward to the next 10 weeks.

Welcome back!

It has been awesome to be back at school this week. Very pleased to see that all my students have returned with big smiles on their faces and with plenty of hugs all round.

We are looking at procedure writing at the moment - so today we got to make JELLY!!!!! Yum! I hope to post up some photos really soon :-)

Over the next couple of weeks I hope to be making some other yummy treats to enhance the students learning through doing experiences before completing the writing side of the procedures. Watch this space......

Like I said, it is great to have EVERYONE back!

School work at home ideas

Some of the students may be keen to continue doing some school work at home (no pressure for them to do so, it is only if they are wanting to).

Here are some ideas if they are keen:

• There are links in the following blog entries to a fun Maths online game and also a Science interactive website that they might like to try
• Students can revise their spelling words from this week and previous weeks
• They may wish to write me stories, either about their experiences or completely fictional stories - if they bring these on Monday I will read and mark them all for the students
• Students could create and refine more designs for our prints that we have started designing
• Read as much as possible, including our blog :-)
• Write a letter or story to Miss Chamley or the other students on this blog - I will endeavour to reply to all

Anyway, that's a couple of idea that I have. As I find more, I will add more.

Welcome to the new Room 18 Blog. On here I will endeavour to keep you updated with any relevant news for Room 18 at Burwood School.

I will also try and add some websites and activities that the students can investigate during this time.
